Groom's Duties & Responsibilities
Congratulations On Your Engagement!
You are now a Fiance' and the woman you are engaged to is your Fiancee'. The terms Fiance' and Fiancee' are French, from Middle French, from past participle of fiancer to promise, betroth.
The Groom's Corner is designed to assist you in organizing, educating, planning and understanding the groom's responsibilities in the sharing of the first day of the rest of your lives.
The engagement is usually filled with many parties including engagement parties, bridal showers, a rehearsal dinner and family get-togethers. It is a growing period and understanding of one another that involves determining mutual goals for a happy life together.
Discuss the style of your wedding and the budget with your fiancee' and all parents. In today's world your future mother-in-law may be the organizer because the two of you are in college, your bride to be and your future mother-in-law may share these responsibilities, or you and your fiancee' may share the responsibilities either by yourselves or with your parents.
The coordination of all the details of a wedding and reception is a major undertaking. There will be a lot of decisions to be made and a lot of things to do in planning this very special event. Your wedding day is a very special day for both of you and many couples share in the decisions on the disc jockey or band, photographer, videographer, wedding day transportation, honeymoon plans, wedding invitations, etc.
In the Groom's Checklist we will focus on the groom's basic responsibilities which are not limited to just this list. Your fiancee' may want you involved in all aspects of the wedding day planning.
There also are many wedding planner books available. "Planning A Wedding to Remember" is an excellent planning guide and is a good investment because it details many of the tasks ahead. It may be purchased from several of the Special Event Network vendors.
